.JAPANESE INVASION IN AMOY MAY BE STAGED FOR HOME CONSUMPTION. ATTACK ON FOREIGN INTERESTS THOUGHT UNLIKELY. By Telegraph—Press Association. Copyright. (Recd This Day, 11.35 a.m.) LONDON, May 11. The Associated Press says the Japanese attack on Amoy is not at present regarded with alarm in British Government quarters. However, the British Ambassador to Japan (Sir R. Craigie) is closely watching developments. The Japanese may be staging the Amoy affair for home consumption, coupled with a test of Chinese strength, but thus far it is not regarded as leading up to a calculated attack on foreign interests.

LUNG HAI BATTLE JAPANESE EXPECTATIONS. HOPES OF ENTRAPPING LARGE FORCE. (Recd This Day, 10.35 a.m.) TOKIO, May 11. According to the Domei News Agency, the Lung Hai battle promises to be the greatest since Mukden, in 1905. The Japanese hope to entrap 400,000 Chinese.
