SERIES OPENS QUIETLY. LATE RATES MAINTAINED. By Telegraph.—Press Association, Copyright. (Recd This Day, 11.15 a.m.) LONDON. May 10. The wool sales opened quietly, prices being unchanged. A total of 9069 bales was offered, including 4171 from New Zealand, and 7082 were sold. There was a moderate selection and keen, general demand, chiefly for good wools. ’ Slipes and inferiors were frequently withdrawn. Slipes were from par to five per cent lower and the others unchanged from the closing prices of the last seriesh. New Zealand greasy crossbred, Meonstoke, brought from lOd to lid; HLT 8d to 9Jd, and slipe halfbred, lambs, Threecrown Gear, lOd to lid.
