WAIRARAPA PARTY’S ITINERARY. TOUR OF NORTH ISLAND. The itinerary of the tour to be made by Wairarapa Young Farmers from Monday, May 23 to Thursday, June 2 is as follows:— Monday, May 23: Buses leave Wellington 7 a.m. Pick up members at Featherston, Greytown and Carterton. Main rendezvous Masterton 10 a.m. Pick up members at Eketahuna and Pahiatua. Lunch at Woodville. Arrive Ohakune, say 5.30 p.m. Night at Ohakune (or Raetihi).
Tuesday, May 24: Leave Ohakune 9 a.m. Visit Rangapo and Hautu Prison Farms (near Tokaanu). Thermal sights at Taupo, Huka Falls and Aratiatia Rapids. Night at Rotorua. Wednesday, May 25: Rotorua. Inspect Ngakuru and Horo Horo Native Settlement in morning. Afternoon and evening sightseeing. Night at Rotorua. Thursday, May 26: Leave Rotorua 9 a.m. Visit Tikitere Native Lands Development Area, and thermal sights en route. Tauranga in afternoon. Visit Maori War Cemetery. Night at Tauranga.
Friday, May 27: Tauranga. Launch trip as guests of Tauranga Young Farmers’ Club. Leave Tauranga in afternoon- via Kaimai. Visit Waharoa Dairy Factory en route to Te Aroha. Night at Te Aroha.
Saturday, May 28: Leave Te Aroha 9 a.m. Visit Shell Lime Works, Kopuarahi; McLean's pampas plantations, Pipiroa. Proceed to Auckland via Pokeno. Afternoon tea as guests of Mangatawhiri Young Farmers’ Club. Night at Auckland. Sunday, May 29: Auckland. Free day. Bus tour of environs probably arranged. Night at Auckland. Monday, May 30: Leave Auckland 9 a.m. Visit Fertiliser Works at Otahuhu; Waione Model Piggeries at Papakura; also farm at Pukekohe. Lunch, Railway Refreshments Rooms,
Mercer. Visit Te Kauwhata Horticultural Station; Totara Park Friesian Farm. Night at Hamilton. Tuesday, May 31: Leave Hamilton 9 a.m. Visit Ruakura Experimental Farm; Arapuni Electric Power Station; N.Z. Dairy Co’s. Pig Farm, Te Awamutu. Night at Cambridge. Wednesday, June 1: Leave Cambridge 9 a.m. Visit Waitomo Caves en route to New Plymouth. Night at New Plymouth.
Thursday, June 2: Leave New Plymouth 9 a.m. Return to Wairarapa, dropping members at Pahiatua, Eketahuna, Masterton, Carterton, Greytown and Featherston. Buses return to Wellington.
