SCHEELITE INDUSTRY
LAKE WAKATIPU VENTURE ANOTHER SET BACK (By Telegraph—Press Association.) . DUNEDIN, May 10. The scheelite industry at the head of Lake Wakatipu has had another setback because of the abnormal decline in the price of the mineral. With the price up to £5OO a ton for ore some months ago the industry was highly profitable, but the price has now slumped to £l4O a ton, which is not payable under the present labour conditions. It will have the effect of throwing several men out of work.
