The Davis Cup tie broke up in confusion after Puncec (Yugoslavia) had defeated Menzel (Czechoslovakia), 3/6, 6/1, 6/1, 6/2. Mitic (Yugoslavia) was leading Sejnar (Czechoslovakia), 3/6, 7/5, 4/6, 6/2, 2/1, when the Czech walked off the court under the general agreement to cease play at 7 p.m., which Yugoslavia does not recognise. Thereupon Yugoslavia was declared the winner. The crowd was iridignant.
