TEACHERS CONFER
INSTITUTE ANNUAL MEETING IN WELLINGTON. ADVOCACY OF UNIFIED SERVICE. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The fifty-fifth annual meeting of the New Zealand Educational Institute opened today, 83 teachers, representing 44 branches, attending. The proceedings will continue till Friday. The delegates were welcomed by the Mayor (Mr T. C. A. Hislop), who stressed the importance of the teaching profession and hoped the conference would be of benefit. In his presidential address, Mr R. McGlashen (Napier) referred to the need for unefication. not only of control. but of the whole service of education. The conference went into committee to consider the executive's report.
