EGMONT MEETING REQUIEM WINS CHAMPION PLATE (By Telegraph—Press Association.) .HAWERA, May 8. With the exception of a light shower early, tine but overcast weather prevailed for the conclusion of the Egmont Racing Club’s winter meeting at Hawera on Saturday. The .totalisator returns for the meeting were slightly less than last May, but considering that the first day was Coronation Day, the results of this year’s meeting compare more than favourably. • The track was again heavy and the going slow.
