WRESTLING

BLOMFIELD AND McKAY NEXT WEEK. Patrons of wrestling in the Wairarapa will welcome the news that the 1938 season is to be opened at Masterton on May 12 with the return contest between “Lofty” Blomfield and Pet McKay, who recently supplied a packed house at Wellington with a bout of concentrated thrills. Apart from the exciting action which it is bound to produce, the bout i of special interest in that it will mark the first local appearance for the season of Blomfield. McKay is a big and muscular wrestler 6ft high and weighing nearly 17st, and has been competing as a professional for about ten years. In addition to a wide assortment of holds, he can use a terrific elbow jolt which will cause considerable excitement when matched against that of Blomfield. The box plan is now open and booking is free at W. C. Orange, Masterton (phone 1934), Hughan’s Garage, Carterton (phone 53), and Standard Office, Grey town (phone 7).
