FEILDING SALES (By Telegraph—Press Association.) FEILDING, May 6. There was an increased yarding of fate sheep at today’s Feilding sale, and with most of the stock in good to prime condition prices firmed. Store cattle came in for fair demand, some wellgrown young station animals selling well. The heavy yarding of fat cattle opened firmly. Realisations are as follows: —
Fat sheep: Prime heavy lambs 24s to 25s Bd, second quality 22s 7d to 23s lOd, medium grade 21s to ,22s 4d. others 17s to 20s; best heavy wethers 27s 8d to 295, second grade 26s to 27s 3d, average sorts 24s 8d to 25s 9d, light 235; prime ewes 19s 6d to 20s, light 14s 6d to 14s 9d, prime' maiden ewes, 25s 6d. Store sheep: Black-face lambs, good 12s 2d to 15s lOd; fair 6s 7d to 8s 6d, ewe lambs, 16s Id; breeding ewes from five-year, 25s 9d.
Store cattle: Good weaner P.A. steers £4 10s to £5 ss, small £2 to £2 15s; weaner P.A. heifers £3 4s; poor m.s. heifers, £1 12s; P.A. cows £4; P.A. cows and heifers, £4 17s 6d; forward Holstein cows £5; forward P.A. bullocks, £lO 12s 6d; three-year Holstein steers £7 15s; weaner heifers, £ll7s 6d; runners £2 7s 6d to £2 15s; boner cows, heavy £3 15s to £4 12s 6d, others £2 to £3 10s.
Fat cattle: Station-bred cows £7 to £8 ss; P.A. heifers £9; Jersey heifers, £4 19s; ex dairy cows £5 15s to .£6 2s 6d; Jersey steers, £5 5s to .£6 17s 6d; light bullocks, £8 15s. Dairy cattle: Spring cows, good £6 to £7; backward £4 10s to £5 ss; springing heifers, £6 5s to £7. Pigs: Weaners 3s 6d to 10s; slips 10s 6d to 14s 6d; stores £1 Is; baconers £2 3s; sows 13s to £1 ss; boars, 17s.
CARTERTON SALE
Messrs Wright Stephenson and Co. Ltd, report as follows: —We held our weekly sale at Carterton yesterday when a far entry of stock was offered to the usual attendance. Sheep made late rates. Spring cows and heifers sold well while fat cows were firmer. Stores sold at par prices. Pigs were about the same 'as last week. Prices were as follow: —
Sheep:—Woolly wether lambs, to 18s 3d; b.f. lambs (good), 17s to 19s; medium b.f. lambs, to 13s; small, b.f. lambs, to 9s; fat and fwd. ewes, to 14s 4d. Cattle: —Jersey heifers and w. drop, £7 to £7 15s; jersey heifers, just calved, to £7; springing cows, £6 15s to £8; fat cows, £4 15s to £6 10s; fwd. cows, £3 to £4 10s; store cows, 35s to £2 10s; Wianu jersey heifers, to £2 9s; cows and calves, £4 17s to £6 Is; bulls £4 to £7. Pigs:—Weaners (good), 8s to Ils; (medium), 6s to 7s 6d; (small), 4s to 5s 6d; slips, 12s to 16s; store pigs, 18s to 245; light porkers, 25s 6d to 325; porkers, 34s to 455; choppers, £2 10s to £3; sows to farrow, £2 10s to £3 3s.
