LETTER OF THANKS RECEIVED FROM KING
LOYALTY OF DOMINIONS APPRECIATED
(By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The Prime Minister, the Rt Hon M. J. Savage, has received from His Majesty King George VI the following letter referring to the gift oil painting of the Coronation service from the four Dominions of the British Commonwealth of Nations: — Buckingham Palace, March 25, 1938. My Dear Prime Minister— I thank you for your letter, It is with the greatest pleasure that the Queen and I have today received from your High Commissioner and his colleagues of Canada, Australia and South Africa the oil painting of the Coronation service, so generously promised to us before you left this country last year. You will be glad to know that Mr Salisbury has produced a striking representation of that unforgettable occasion, which we are indeed happy to possess. We would like to assure you once again how greatly we have appreciated this kind thought on your part; and the picture will always be a valued reminder of the loyalty and, affection shown to us by the people of New Zealand at the time of our Coronation.
