LABOUR CANDIDATE. TO OPPOSE MR HAMILTON. (By Telegraph—Press Association). WELLINGTON, May 5. Mr J. J. Lynch, a resident of Aparima, has been selected by the members of the Labour Party to contest the Wallace constituency against the Leader of the Opposition, Hon Adam Hamilton, at the general, election. Mr Lynch has been a farmer for many years and is a member of the Southland provincial executive of the Farmers’ Union, a director of the Wairio Sale Yards Co., a member of the Southland Mortgage Adjustment Commission, chairman of the Nightcaps branch of the party, and president of the Wallace Labour Representation Committee. Mr Lynch's selection has been endorsed by the national executive of the New Zealand Labour Party. OAMARU SEAT. NATIONAL PARTY CANDIDATE. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) DUNEDIN, May 5. Mr F. E. Cooney, mayor of Oamaru, hash been selected as National Party candidate for the Oamaru seat at the general election.
