THE HOME SHAMPOO
TRY THIS PLAN One of the difficulties of washing the hair at home is that the protective towel pinned round the neck will keep dipping into the water so that it becomes more bother than it is worth. When the hair is drying, too, it is a nuisance to have a- towel wrapped round the shoulders, because it impedes the arms if a spot of work has to be done meantime.
Try this plan: Buy a gaily bordered Turkish towel of the correct size, cut a hole large enough for the head to go through the opening in the centre, bind with ribbon and leave the ends long enough to tie at the throat. Sew another. length of ribbon on the towel where it reaches the waist.
Slip on the towel-jacket before washing the hair, tie the ribbons and you will have complete freedom of arms and hands and excellent protection for clothes.
' A second “jacket” could be made in the same way to wear when drying the hair—in case the first happens to get damp—to give similar freedom and protection.
