A territorial recruit was on guard for the first time. About midnight the orderly officer paid his visit of inspection. "Anything unusual been happening'.’” he asked the sentry. "Yes, sir,” came the prompt reply, “the sergeant-major come home five minutes ago, perfectly sober.”
