UNION FORMED

f BY STABLE HANDS. FIRST OF KIND IN NEW ZEALAND (By Telegraph—Press Association). CHRISTCHURCH, May 2. The stable hands in the racing and trotting stables in Canterbury have formed a union which has been registered as the Canterbury Racing and Trotting Stable Hands’ Industrial Union. ' This is the first union of its kind that has been formed in New Zealand, but it is expected that the workers in other centres will follow the leafl given by Canterbury. Better wages and improved living conditions are two of the main aims of the union. It is stated that no exorbitant demands will be made and it is also considered likely that an agreement will be reached without much trouble.
