THE REGENT.
“THE GO-GETTER.” The Warner Bros.’ Cosmopolitan comedy-drama, “The Go-Getter,” will be finally shown at the Regent Theatre tonight. COMING TOMORROW. “MADAME X.” So arduous were the acting demands made upon Gladys George for the heart-stabbing portrayal demanded of her in the title role of “Madame X.” which will open its season tomorrow night at the Regent, that Director Sam Wood insisted on the star relaxing between shots rather than proceed immediately with the retaking of a scene as is usual. That a picture should have one sweeping emotional spene between its leading protagonists is not uncommon. But in the case of “Madame X” there are not one but at least five such scenes in which Miss George is required to rise to the pitch of her dramatic ability, in each scene her fellow player being a different man. The men who play opposite Miss George are Philip Reed as the youthful admirer, Warren William as her husband, William Henry as the son of Jonathan Hale. Henry Daniell as the blackmailer and John Beal as her own son.
