RIVAL DEMONSTRATIONS ON MAY DAY EXCITEMENT RUNS HIGH. DR. BENES SENDS GOOD WISHES TO HERR HITLER. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) Copyright. PRAGUE, April sff. The Sudeten Germans plan to make May tomorrow the biggest demonstration of Nazi solidarity in Czechoslovakia. Excitement is running high, particularly as the Czechs are uniting in celebrations on a scale and in a spirit hitherto unknown. The President of Czechoslovokia, Dr Benes, has telegraphed to Herr Hitler: “On the occasion of the German national holiday (May Day) I express to your Excellency my sincerest good wishes.” SPEECHES AND MUSIC. SEPARATE CELEBRATIONS. (Recd This Day, 9.40 a.m.) PRAGUE, May 1. Coaches and cars bore Sudeten Germans from the capital to Korkau for demonstrations on Sudeten territory, where Herr Henlein made six speeches. Meantime the Czechs were celebrating May Day as enthusiastically. The principal streets of Prague were packed with people listening for hours to speeches and national music.
