MOTOR SERVICES
REPORTED ACQUISITION BY GOVERNMENT. It is stated on good authority that the Government has acquired the services of Jenkins’ Motor Services, Ltd., Highways Transport Co., Ltd., and Wellington Express Co., operating between Wellington and Masterton. Although official confirmation could not be obtained this morning, it is stated that the services were taken over as from today. It is not anticipated, as far as the passenger services are concerned, that there will be any alteration in the present arrangements for the time being.
