WAR REHEARSAL

RUSSIAN MINISTER’S PREDICTION THINKS WORLD CONFLICT INEVITABLE. BUT SAYS SOVIET WILL STRIVE FOR PEACE. (Reed This Day, 10.10 a.m.) MOSCOW, May 1. The Minister of Defence, M. K. E. Voroshilov, in a May Day Army Order, says the sympathies of the Soviet are wholeheartedly with China and with Republican Spain. The order describes the present conflicts as a rehearsal for a world war and alleges that the Soviet will continue to strive for peace, but cannot ignore the fact that the world has become an armed camp. Russia must increase her army's fighting capacity ■in view of the numerous enemies preparing to attack her.
