OTTAWA REVISION
STATEMENT OF AUSTRALIA’S VIEWS DELEGATION IN LONDON SIR EARLE PAGE OUTLINES OBJECTIVES (British Official Wireless) (Recd This Day 12.7 p.m.) RUGBY, April 29. A delegation, representing the Australian Government, which will discuss trade questions with the British Government, has arrived in London. In a statement to the Press, the leader of the delegation, Sir Earle Page, said the primary reason for the visit was to discuss the revision of the Ottawa Agreement, which was made in the depths of the depression, and was designed not only to stimulate inter-Empire trade, which it had done, but also to serve as a stepping-stone towards the revival of inter-imperial trade as a whole. What they desired was an agreement which would retain the advantageous factors so far as the Empire was concerned, while giving greater opportunities for negotiating trade agreements with other countries.
