INTOXICATED MOTORIST
♦ SLAUGHTERMAN SENT TO GAOL (By Telegraph—Press Association). WELLINGTON, April 29. For having been intoxicated in charge of a motor-car, William James Reille, slaughterman, was sentenced to one month’s imprisonment by Mr W. F. Stilwell, S.M., in the Magistrates' Court, Wellington, today. Sub-Inspec-tor A. D. McLean prosecuted. It was stated in- the police evidence that at about 11 p.m. on April 28 a motor-car was seen going along Victoria Street in an erratic manner. A constable hired a taxi and overtook the car. When it was stopped it was found that accused was intoxicated and that he had no drivers’ licence. A medical certificate that Reille was unfit to be driving was produced.
