EKETAHUNA SALE CATTLE IN GOOD DEMAND Messrs Dalgety & Co., Ltd., report on their Eketahuna Cattle Fair held in conjunction with the weekly sale as follows:—A good yarding of cattle and a medium entry of sheep came forward allowing a large and representative attendance. Cattle were in good demand and comparing quality sold on values on a part with recent sales. There was quite a number of weaner P.A. steers and heifers, and one medium line of steers made £3 17s. Sheep were in demand, two and four tooth ewes R.W. Romney ram making 325. A total clearance was effected as follows: —Fat (light), P.A. cows and heifers,£6, £6 ss, £6 7s 6d, £6 9s to £6 ' 14s; light fat, dairy cows, £3 15s; £4 5s to £4 10s. Eighteen months P.A. steers £6; Shorthorn do., £5; Hereford do., £6 2s 6d; medium do., £4 10s, £4 17s to £ 5 ss. MARTINBOROUGH SALE The N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report having held their sale at Martinborough yesterday when a small yarding of sheep was submitted to a fair attendance of local farmers. We sold our total yarding at auction, prices comparing very favourably with late rates. Quotations: — Medium B.F. Lambs, 15s; Small do., 12s Id; Good wether lambs, 17s 8d; Fair do., 15s; Small wether lambs, 10s. WRIGHT, STEPHENSON & CO. Messrs Wright, Stephenson and Co., Ltd., report:—A fair entry came forward at yesterday’s sale. Buyers were keen and prices were firmer than recent quotations. We made a total clearance as under: — B.F. lambs (good), 14s 8d to 15s 6d; small do., Ils Id to Ils lOd; woolly w. lambs (good), 17s; small w.f. lambs, 7s lOd to 10s 9d.
