HOCKEY
WAIRARAPA ASSOCIATION. MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MEETING. A meeting of the Management Committee of the Wairarapa Men's Hockey Association, was held in Masterton last night. In view of the visit of the Indian team on June 11 the question of a ground for the match was fully discussed and the offer of Memorial Park by the Rugby Union was accepted. The suggested charges for the match were 2s gate, Is stand, school children at the gate 6d and 6d stand. It was decided to take out an insurance policy against the weather. It was decided to invite the Bush representative team to play Wairarapa on Saturday, June 4 to enable the respective representative teams to have a game together prior to the Indian match. The North v. South Wairarapa game will be played as a cur-tain-raiser to the representative game. Players for this game will be chosen from those other than members of the selected representative team. It was decided to invite the co-oper-ation of the ladies’ association to provide a curtain-raiser to the Indian match.
The secretary was instructed to write to the Town Clerk thanking him for his offer of the Park Oval for the Indian game. It was decided that all Wellington clubs be circularised inviting them to participate in the five-a-side tournament on the King’s Birthday. A challenge is to be forwarded for the Nordon Cup. Mr J. Fisher was appointed sole senior selector, and Mr E. W. Tooby was appointed sole junior selector.
Nominations' from 5 senior teams and 6 junior teams were received forthe season’s competition.
