MIDNIGHT CRIME

LARGE SUM STOLEN. FROM MOTOR CAR. (By Telegraph—Press Association). PALMERSTON N., April 25. Banknotes and silver totalling approximately £l4O belonging to Mr H. J. Sutton, Palmerston North, were stolen from his car soon after midnight on Saturday. It is understood the money was in a small leather cashbag. It was placed by Mr Sutton on the floor against the front seat of the car, which was parked in King Street. The car was left unattended for a while, and the money was not missed until Mr Sutton, proprietor of a dance hall, was on his way home.
