THE GOVERNMENT’S REPLY TO CRITICISM FURTHER EXPANSION PLANS FLEET OF NINE THOUSAND PLANES By Telegraph—Press Association. Copyright. LONDON, April 24. The aeronautical correspondent of the “Daily Herald” says the Government's reply to the charges of muddle and delay will be an early announcement of a revision of the expansion programme to provide for the building of a new fleet totalling 9,000 planes. Plans for enlarging many factories have been considered with a view to mass production. There will also be an extension of the shadow factories. The trade unions maintain that the ail- industry is working at nothing like full pressure.
