Thirdly, public works mainly directed towards the abolition of slums. Fourthly, increased credits for industry and commerce. Fifthly, financial reforms, which will be announced later. Sixthly, a more extensive development of the colonies. Lastly, development of the tourist trade as a national industry. The first decree will be published on May 3. M. Daladier emphasised that the whole plan was based on the maintenance of a free currency, under, a tripartite agreement between England. France and America and defence of the franc, which was indispensable for the return of capital and the ending of hoarding. He added that the average French citizen pays out 43 per cent of his income in various forms of taxation.
