« SIR E. W. BEATTY ON FASCISM & SOCIALISM COMMENT ON SOCIAL CREDIT STATE. BOOKS NOT UNDERSTOOD. LONDON, (Ontario), April 22. The Canadian Pacific president (Sir E. W. Beatty), urging youth to equip themselves for public life, declared that the road to power of the Social Credit State was an ability to write books which none understood. Socialism would place government respon-, sibilities on experts, but it was never stated how these would be selected. Fascism was some complex theory cf divine inspiration under which the man most successful in raising a private army of gunmen proved the best ruler.
