BRITISH BUDGET
DEBATE TO BE OPENED ON TUESDAY ARRANGEMENTS FOR RADIO BROADCASTS. GOVERNMENT AND OPPOSITION SPEAKERS. (British Official Wireless.) (Recd This Day, 9.44 a.m.) ’ RUGBY, April 21. The Budget debate is to open in the House of Commons on Tuesday, when Parliament reassembles after the Easter recess, and later in the evening the Chancellor of the Exchequer (Sir John Simon) is to give a popular exposition of the Budget in a broadcast speech. Major C. R. Attlee (Leader of the Opposition) and Sir Archibald Sinclair (Liberal Leader) will broadcast comment on the Budget on April 27 and 28, respectively, and on April 29, the case for the Government will be presented by Lieut.-Col. D. J. Colville, Financial Secretary to the Treasury. Business in the House of Commons during the week will be as usual, al- , most exclusively devoted to Budget matters, and the debate on the Brit-ish-Italian Agreement, at the instance of the Labour Opposition, will not take place until the following week.
