ST. MATTHEW’S CHURCH
LADIES’ GUILD ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of St Matthew's Ladies’ Guild was held in the Parish Hall yesterday afternoon. The Rev E. J. Rich presided over a large attendance of members. Apologies for absence were received from Mesdames Hatch, Andrew, Coleman, and Heath. Several new members were welcomed. The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows: —President, Mrs E. J. Rich; vice-president, Mesdames W. Penistone, S. Mawley, L. B. Maunsell, W. R. Birch, R. Hatch, T. T. Denbee, R. Beetham and W. Andrew; secretary, Mrs J. M. Aikman. A gift afternoon will be'held early in June. It was arranged to hold the usual bridge evenings during the winter, the proceeds to go to the Guild and Scout Funds. The Guild desires to thank Messrs Ninnes, Penistone and Knapp, members of St Matthew’s vestry and the Press for their assistance during year. The Rev E. J. Rich thanked the Guild for their help given so freely on all occasions. Mesdames E. J. Burke and E. J. Coleman were elected a social committee.
