LEAGUE OF MOTHERS

ADDRESS BY MRS C. ROLLINGS There was a good attendance at the monthly meeting of the League of Mothers, held in the St Matthew’s Parish Hall yesterday afternoon. The president (Mrs L. B. Maunsell) occupied the chair. Several excellent numbers were given by the League Choir. Mrs R. Millward (president of the Petone branch) sang a number of delightful songs, and Mrs H. R. Keltie gave two recitations. All these items were much appreciated, and the performers were warmly thanked. The speaker of the day was Mrs C. Rollings, of Ngaio. Her subject was: ‘’The Little Palace Beautiful.” This was a symbolic palace in miniature, housing the different types of children which are the problems of all parents the world over. In the course of her address Mrs Rollings endeavoured to impress her hearers with the importance of training the child wisely, and told many interesting stories illustrating her remarks. On concluding Mrs Rollings was very heartily thanked. The tea hostesses were Mesdames E. G. Norman, F. A. Judd, E. J. Rich and A. C. Major.
