LONDON PRICES FIRM The butter market is firm and active, according to the report supplied by the Primary Products Marketing Department to the Dairy Board. Last Thursday’s closing quotations, with those for the previous week in parentheses, were as follows: — New Zealand, salted 121 s to 1235, ex 124 s (118 s to 119 s; a year ago, 106 s to 107 s); unsalted, 123 s to 124 s (121 s to 1225; a year ago, 106 s to 107 s). Danish, 103 s f.0.b.; 123 s spot (100 s 1225). Unsalted, 118 s to 119 s (115 s to 118 s). Retail prices are unchanged, New Zealand at Is 2d to Is 3d a lb, and Danish at Is 3d to Is 4d. Deliveries of New Zealand butter last week were 1727 tons. The cheese markets was steady. Thursday’s closing quotations, with those of the previous week in parentheses, were as follows:—New Zealand, white, 70s (69s 6d to 70s; a year ago 68s 6d to 695); coloured, 70s 6d (70s to 70s 6d; a year ago, 68s 6d to 695).
