THE WEINTRAUBS
A MUSICAL TREAT. Entertainment as delightful as it is unusual will be enjoyed at the Regent Theatre on Friday night, when the Weintraubs make their appearance in Masterton. Those who do not avail themselves of the opportunity will have reason to commiserate with themselves, because they will miss a treat such as is not likely again to be offered on the local boards. The Weintraubs, who have an international reputation, are well known to New Zealanders per medium of the microphone, but they need to be seen, as well as heal’d, to be fully appreciated. The quintet, representing five nationalities, are master musicians. Included in the instruments are drums and “traps” of all kinds, bassoons, saxophones big and small, viola, violin, piano, trombones, clarionets, flutes, piccolo, members of the mandoline family, oboes and others. A great variety of selections, nearly all gay, constitute the programme. Messrs J. C. Williamson performed a public service when they arranged to send the Weintraubs to Masterton.
