FRAUD CHARGE

MINISTER VICTIMISED. ACCUSED SENT TO GAOL. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) OAMARU, April 20. Selwyn /George Maynard, of Christchurch, was sentenced by Mr H. W. Bundle, S.M., today to six months’ imprisonment for obtaining money from the Rev John Freeman, Herbert, by means of fraudulent representation. The police said that Maynard, in a rental car, had travelled over 3000 miles in 23 days on a tour of the South Island.
