■■ ■> CARTERTON SALE. Messrs Wright Stephenson and Co., Ltd., report:—A small yarding of cattle and pigs came forward at our weekly Carterton sale and was offered to a fair attendance of buyers. All classes of stock sold well up to late rates and practically a total clearance was effected under the hammer at the following prices:— Cattle: Springing cows, to £7 10s; Jersey-cross heifers, £6 15s; fat cows, £3 17s, £4 Ils to £5 7s; empty heifers, to £3 10s. Pigs: Weaners, 7s 6d, 9s 6d to Ils; slips, £1 2s to £1 7s; porkers, £2 2s.
