Views on Racing Facts and Fancies

OPENING OF EASTER CARNIVAL. (By “The Cynic.”) Hundreds of thousands of pounds will change hands on racetracks in various parts of New Zealand when the big Easter racing carnival opens on Saturday. Locally, interest will centre in the Wairarapa Racing Club’s popular fixture at Tauherenikau. Gallops will also be held at Auckland, Feilding, Riverton, Taupeka, and Greymouth. Indications are that the Wairarapa Club will experience a most successful meeting and, with well-filled fields and good class horses, patrons are promised some excellent sport.
