HOOT HOLDS ANNUAL RODEO
Early in September each year, Hoot Gibson, who is starring in Film Distributors' “Rainbow’s End,” coming to the Cosy Theatre on Saturday next holds an annual rodeo at his ranch near Sangus, about twenty-five miles from Hollywood. This event, which is the biggest twoday rodeo in the State of California, brings together many outstanding Western riders, ropers, bulldogging and pony express contestants. They compete for trophies, cash prizes and titles, which can be awarded by Hoot Gibson under the sanction of the Rodeo Association of America. Hoot has been a star of rodeos for a number of years, having' first won fame at Pendelton, Oregon, when he won the allround championship. When he was sent to Australia with the American rodeo team he won everything in sight, but for the past two years has been out of the saddle because of an almost fatal accident which occurred when he was competing in the National air races at Mines Field in 1932. Many Western stars have been invited to attend the Rodeo, including Harry Carr, Bill Hart. Tom Mix. Buck Jones, and others, while Carrillo will do some fancy Spanish roping. Spectators from all over the country are expected to be present when the big day arrives, and many of the players in "Rainbow's End" will undoubtedly be present.
June Gale appears opposite Hoot Hi this fast-racing, hard-riding romance of the West, and the supporting cast includes Charles Hill. Sidney Blystone. Warner Richmond, Oscar Apfel. Ada Ince, and others.
