CARS DISAPPEAR
MARSEILLES MYSTERY Many cars that have disappeared mysteriously in Marseilles during the past few months have been found — in rows at the bottom of the harbour, states the “Motor.” A dredged hauled the first one out, and as work continued one after another were fished out on to the quay. In one a skeleton was found, and then it was discovered that the, number of the car had been changed. No owners for the cars could be traced, and when a diver was sent down to the bottom of the harbour, he revealed that there were ranks of cars down there. It is thought that the cars have been used by the gangsters who throng Marseilles. Their practice is such that they use the best cars, and only once, then letting the car disappear into the harbour.
These gangsters seem to know how to solve the used-car problem.
