EASTER MATCHES. FINAL REP. GAMES OF SEASON. The final representative matches of the season will take place in Masterton during Easter, when teams representing the Wellington Mercantile League will play a Wairarapa representative eleven —and the Wairarapa juniors will try conclusions with the St. Patrick’s College Old Boys team — winners of the junior competition in Wellington. Both games will be played on Easter Saturday and Easter Monday, play commencing at 10 a.m. and finishing at 5 p.m. on both days. The Wairarapa senior team is not fully representative of the district, several good players being unavailable. This however, gives an opportunity to a number of young players to show their skill. The local junior representatives will be up against a stiff proposition as the St. Patrick’s team have put up a wonderful record on their games in Wellington—and would undoubtedly extend ’ some of the senior teams there.

Arrangements are well in hand to entertain the Mercantile team during their stay. They will arrive in Masterton at 4.30 p.m. on Good Friday and will be met by the local association and as many players and supporters who care to come along to the Prince of Wales Hotel, their headquarters. After play ceases on Saturday the players will attend a dance in the Masonic Hall. On Sunday the team will be entertained by the local players and supporters at “Pancake Farm,” where cricket, shooting and other entertainment will be provided. The team will leave for Wellington after play concludes on Monday. The following players are asked to be in attendance at “Pancake Farm” at 11 a.m. on Sunday:—S. Jenkins, E. Jenkins, S. McClymont, G. Barr, H. Guy, J. McPherson, Brice (4), A. Wolff, L. Berry, Fitzgerald, E. Miller, N. Gallichan, J. Oakden, W. Hadley. The Gallichan referred to is Norm Gallichan, of Palmerston North, and the player who nearly missed the trip to England last year, but after being ignored by the selectors, his inclusion was strongly recommended by the captain and manager and he was included at the last moment. Gallichan’s performances in England with limited opportunities were very fine indeed. As he will be spending the whole of Easter in Masterton an opportunity presents itself to all cricketers and particularly the colts, to make his acquaintance, when he will be found only too willing to pass on many hints and details of his experience gained while on tour in England last year. The entertainment of the St. Patrick’s team is in the hands of the local St. Patrick’s Old Boys. JUNIOR REPRESENTATIVE TEAM. The following Wairarapa junior representative team will play St. Patrick’s College Old Boys at the College grounds on Saturday, commencing at 10 a.m.:—R. Brice, G. Coleman, G. Reid. J. Brice, J. Malloy, Minifie, H. Ward, Mooney, N. Hoar, McGill, S. Henson. The senior Wairarapa representative team to play Mercantile League on the Park Oval on Saturday (commencing at 10 a.m.) and on Monday, will be as follows: —W. S. Brice (captain), V. Greer, A. Stubbings, Sid Jenkins. J. Renner, B. Patrick, C. Parsonson, F. Hoar, A. Andrews, P. Ryan, L. Hibbs. Twelfth man, W. Thompson. BIDWILL CUP. A special meeting of the Wairarapa Cricket Association was held last night when it was decided that the uncompleted game between Wairarana College and Lansdowne for the Bidwill Cup will be resumed on the first Saturday after Easter.
