SOUTH BELT

PROPOSED PERMANENT SURFACING. COUNTY COUNCIL SUGGESTION. A proposal to tar-seal the road from the end of South Belt to the service station in High Street was put forward at yesterday's meeting of the Masterton County Council, by Councillor Gordon Lee.

“I have a little to spare in my riding this year," he stated, “and I would like to get that piece of road sealed. The estimated cost is £3OO and I suggest that we ask the Borough Council to contribute half of the cost, which would be spread over a twoyear period.”

It was decided to place the proposal before the Borough Council.
