TOWNSWOMEN’S GUILD
ADDRESS BY MRS J. A. LEE. The meeting of the Masterton Townswomen’s Guild, held in the Arcade Hall yesterday afternoon marked the commencement of the Guild’s third year. There was an excellent attendance, including many new members.
Mrs W. H. Judd presided, and in a brief address spoke on the objects of the Guild, and trusted that the true Guild spirit would prevail at all meetings.
The new programme which had been drawn up for the ensuing year met with the approval of all. There was a good response to the Roll Call “How I like to spend a wet day.”
Miss Edith Ralph sang two much appreciated solos. Mrs J. A. Lee. in a most interesting talk on “Famous Women of Today,’ spoke on the life of Margaret Bonfield, and others who had done much to improve conditions for women today.
A buffet, afternoon tea and the singing of the Ode brought a most enjoyable afternoon to a close.
