The opportunity of learning to fiy is now available for a limited number of suitable applicants through the Civil Reserve of Pilots training scheme. Last year the Wairarapa and Ruahine Aero Club trained nine pilots at the Hood Aerodrome, South Road, Masterton. This year a further group is to be selected to receive flying instruction. Any suitable person who is keen to take up aviation and qualify as a pilot should immediately apply to the secretaries, as notified by advertisement in this issue. The Air Department Committee will interview applicants in about two weeks' time, and those selected will commence training immediately after being passed by the Medical Board. As no flying fees are charged to trainees, the scheme will no doubt appeal to those who are “air-minded' and who wish to avail themselves of the opportunity to join the Civil Reserve of Pilots.
