WESLEY HOCKEY CLUB
ENTHUSIASTIC ANNUAL MEETING SUPPORT FOR INDIAN TEAM’S VISIT. The annual general meeting of the Wesley Hockey Club was held in the Methodist Bible Class Rooms last evening. Mr C. H. Skuse presided over a good attendance of members. Considerable enthusiasm was shown by members in connection with the affairs of the club.
A single debit balance was reported by the treasurer. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year:—Patron, Mr D. A. Barns; president, the Rev. F. G. Parker;, vice-presidents, Messrs W. White, VZ. E. Cody Senr., C. H. Skuse, A. E. Bate, A. J. Wise, W. Davies, Dr. N. H. Prior. N. R. Jones and E. M. Hodder: club captain, Mr A. E. Steer; treasurer, Mr E. E. Steer; secretary, Mr K. H. Brader; coaches, Messrs W. Davies and A. J. Wise. One senior team and two junior teams are to be entered in the Wairarapa Hockey Association’s competitions.
The approaching visit of the Indian hockey team was discussed at length. It was decided to support the Association by guaranteeing £lO towards the expenses of the Indian team. The opening club practice will be held on April 23 when all three teams will participate. The fees for the ensuing year will be as follow: —Seniors,- 7s 6d; juniors, 3s 6d and 2s 6d.
The colours will be the same as last year.
Appreciation of the enthusiasm of members was expressed by Mr C. H. Skuse and the meeting closed.
