GIRL DROWNED
RESCUE EFFORTS FAIL. By Telegraph.—Press Association. DUNEDIN, April 11. Lois Constance Mary Reid, aged 11, was drowned at Beatties’ Beach, Otago Peninsula, on Saturday. The child was bathing with sisters and a brother when a wave swept her from her feet. An elder sister’s rescue effort failed. The body has not been recovered.
