AMBITIOUS DISPLAYS
THE SYDNEY ROYAL SHOW. NEW ZEALANDERS TAKING PART. SYDNEY. April 11. This year's Royal Easter Show, which began on Saturday with an attendance of 50,000 people, is planned on a more ambitious scale than ever before in order to mark Australia’s birthday celebrations. Entries total 17.684 and constitute a record. 'There are 2000 cattle of an approximate value of £350,000. Judging began today in the beef cattle section. Mr F. Humphreys. Gisborne, is the sole judge of Polled Herefords and Mr H. Williams, Gisborne, is judge of the Aberdeen Angus.
A number of junior farmers are in camp at the showground. They include five New Zealanders and, in conjunction with the young farmers of Australian and Britain, have submitted more than 300 entries for a magnificent display in the agricultural hall.
