BOWLING
MASTERTON PARK CLUB. A WORKING BEE. On account of the wet weather of the preceding days, conditions on Saturday were not favourable for- bowling, so a large number of the Park members constituted themselves a working bee and completed the preparations for the work which is to be started immediately after the Easter holidays. All the tools were mustered and any repairs necessary done, and a large quantity of first-class soil for top dressing was put through its final stages. The workers were entertained at afternoon tea by the president, and before dispersing carried with acclamation a hearty vote of thanks to Mr Wallace for his hospitality.
In his reply, Mr Wallace expressed his personal appreciation of the manner in which the members had always co-operated with him in anything he suggested. “Any appeal that I have made,” he stated, “has always met with an immediate and practically unanimous response.” -• EASTER TOURNAMENT.
Members are requested to send their names in for the Easter tournament as early as possible, so that preparations can be proceeded with. Several members of South Wairarapa clubs have expressed their intention of being present, and, as was the case on Boxing Day, the invitation broadcast by Station 2ZB wil, no doubt, be accepted by bowlers who will visit Masterton during the holidays.
