MASTERTON PARK CLUB. PRESENTATION OF TROPHIES. The official closing of the Masterton Park Lawn Tennis Club was held at the courts on Saturday. There was a fair attendance of members and friends, despite the adverse weather conditions. The vice-captain introduced the president (Mr L. S. Nicol), who briefly reviewed the club’s activities during the past season, and congratulated the B team on winning the Wairarapa championship, and the C team on being the runners-up for the Wairarapa championship. 'After afternoon tea, provided by the president’s wife, Mrs Nicol, the following trophies were presented to the winners: —Men’s championship singles, Mr E. Handyside; ladies’ championship singles, Miss P. Hessell; men’s championship singles (B grade), Mr R. Clarke; ladies’ championship singles (B grade), Mrs Long; men’s handicap singles, Mr T. Denbee; ladies’ handicap singles, Miss P. Hessell; combined doubles handicap, Mrs Long and Mr Worthington; ladies’ doubles handicap, Mrs Long and Miss Martel; men’s doubles handicap, Messrs Denbee and Clarke.
