WOMEN’S INSTITUTE
MEETING AT NIREAHA. The monthly meeting of the Nireaha Women's Institute was held in the Hall, Mrs Petersen presiding over a very good attendance of members and visitors. Mesdames Petersen and Wilkin were appointed delegates to the annual council meeting, to be held in Carterton on April 29. The competitions for the month resulted as follow: Best bloom, Mrs Petersen 1, Mrs Wilkin 2, Miss B. Petersen 3; rice pudding: Mrs F. Hensen 1, Mrs Blewett 2, Mrs Stewart, Mrs Nordell, Mrs Petersen 3. The “hat” competition was very well received, the winners being Mrs J. Mason 1, Mrs O’Niel, Miss P. Petersen 2, Mrs Drysdale, Miss H. Drysdale, Mrs F. Hansen 3. The hostesses for the afternoon were Mrs J. Hawkins and Miss G. Brown.
