FINE PROCESSION

SPECTACULAR PAGEANT IN SYDNEY INDUSTRIAL AND OTHER DISPLAYS By Telegraph. —Press Association, Copyright. SYDNEY. April 9. Tens of thousands of people lining the streets this morning witnessed the greatest commercial and industrial pageant ever presented in Australia. A procession about three miles long comprised 106 floats, twenty bands and also other units, including early and modern fire-fighting appliances, thirty huge grotesque heads, three hundred girls from athletic clubs, clowns, elephants, tigers and a troop of miniature ponies ridden by small girls and boys. After traversing a number of city streets, the pageant circled the Showground. The pageant and the opening of the Royal Show are features of today’s anniversary celebrations.
