FOOTBALL

PRACTICE GAMES. On Saturday a number of football practice games were held in the Wairarapa, at which very good form for so early in the season was shown by most of the players. At the Memorial Park the Masterton and Carterton seniors met in a game which was of an interesting nature, and in which several players gave very creditable exhibitions. Masterton won by 19 points to 11. For Masterton tries were scored by V. Gray (3), F. Long and L. Reri, two of which were converted by Dickason. The Carterton thirds defeated the Masterton thirds by 18 points to 11. At Gladstone a friendly game was played between the Old Boys and Gladstone seniors, the latter winning by 14 points to 12.
