OBITUARY

MARQUESS OF MILFORD HAVEN. (Recd This Day, 10.0 a.m.) ' LONDON, April B.' The death has occurred of the King’s cousin, the Marquess of Milford Haven.

The Marquess of Milford Haven (George Louis Victor Henry Sergius Mountbatten) who was a retired Commander of the royal Navy, was born in 1892, succeeded his father, the first Marquess in 1921, his mother being Princess Victoria, a daughter of Louis IV, Grand Duke of Hesse and of Princess Alice, Queen Victoria’s daughter. In 1916 he married Nadejda, the second daughter of Grand Duke Michael of Russia and Countess Torby. The late Marquess of Milford Haven was present at the battles of Heligoland 1914, Dogger Bank 1915 and Jutland 1916, on H.M.S. New Zealand.
