JUDGE RUTHERFORD
FEDERAL CABINET TAKING NO ACTION VISIT TO AUSTRALIA (Recd This Day, 11.45 a.m.) SYDNEY, April 9. The Federal Cabinet will not intervene to prevent the landing in Australia of Judge Rutherford, or to retrict his movements in Australia.
A cablegram from Sydney on April 3 stated: —The “Sydney Sun” says that the Feredal Government is to be asked to prevent Judge Joseph F. Rutherford, of America, from.landing in Australia about April 20. The request, which is reported to be backed by returned soldiers, will be based on an allegation that Judge Rutherford had attacked the British Empire. Judge Rutherford is described as head of an organisation known as Jehovah’s Witnesses.
